- Greetings! Do You like creating weird pictures with the help of an
- abstract mathematical theory? Do You study mathematics or physics and
- have to learn function theory? Then You should try out this program:
- ComplexPlotter.

- Basically it allows to input a twodimensional drawing and picture it
- with a complex function. This process changes the drawing depending on
- what function You use (for example rotates, bends or splits it). With
- a bit of training You can produce some really entertaining effects.

- I got the idea to write this program one day in the first semester of
- my studies of physics. The professor, who teached analysis, showed some
- simple effects produced by complex functions. I wrote this program, not
- knowing that complex functions are the main interest of function theory,
- which became subject in fourth semester. So I was then able to put my
- program to good use, by producing some pictures which illustrated complex
- functions, which were spread among fellow students by the professor.

- Now I have translated (or better: have tried to translate) the program
- into English, and submit it to the Fred Fish library. Both versions,
- the original german and the translated english one, are included on this
- disk. The german version uses PAL-graphics (256 lines), so it won´t run
- properly in "NTSC-countries" like the USA, and You have to use the english
- version, which I designed for 200-line-graphics.

- For more detailed information about the program type the ".doc"-file which
- can be found along with the programs themselves in the directories
- "Plotter/German" and "Plotter/English". Those documentations are a bit
- long, but that doesn´t mean the programs are very difficult to use. The
- directory "Plotter/DefPics" contains some demo drawings.

- ComplexPlotter was written under Kickstart 1.3 in assembler, but it should
- run under OS 2.0 or higher without problems. It needs the MathTrans.library,
- and I recommend to have at least 1MB RAM.
